Battersea Beer Festival 2003
|
National Pubs Week - 22 February to 1 March 2003 CAMRA’s first National Pubs Week is intended for
everybody to visit and show support for their local pub.
With the support of a number of breweries and pub companies, CAMRA, will
be issuing posters, leaflets and beer mats to pubs around Britain. Our recent
market research shows that over 80% of people prefer community and local pubs to
themed bars in town centres. National Pubs Week is a week to celebrate all
pubs, but especially those that offer the local community a place to socialise. The variety of different pubs to choose from in Britain is
unique and something we should all be very proud about. With more than 20 pubs now closing every month, it is
important that we encourage both regular and infrequent pubs goers.
Pubs can offer great beer, food and the perfect environment to meet
friends. You may
enjoy festivals such as this where you can sample many different beers, but
these are only occasional showcases for breweries.
What the brewers need to keep going and what we need as consumers to get
choice is a large number of ‘outlets’ –PUBS to you and me.
If people don’t go to your pub, then it may be the next to close.
You can do your bit by making sure you go to the pub during National Pubs
Week, and take some friends who don’t go very often.
To make things easier, National Pubs Week includes two Saturdays.
If your
local pub would like to receive promotional posters and beer mats, they can fill
in the online order form or call Sofia Deus on 01727 867201. A limited supply of posters and beer mats is FREE to all pubs
supporting National Pubs Week There is more information on National Pubs Week at
the membership stand. |
